TCN Gives Update On Ongoing Network Maintenance

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) is currently carrying out maintenance works on its transmission network in Lagos.

This was made known in a statement issued by the Company’s General Manager, Public Affairs Ndidi Mbah.

Mbah noted that the ongoing work on the 132kV Ikeja West-Alimoso-Ogba-Alausa-Ota-Papalanto transmission line would upgrade the transmission infrastructure from the current capacity of 240MW to 500MW. The upgrade will resolve the transmission challenges at the Ikeja West/Papalanto axis.

”Presently, the five power stations along that line route have a total capacity of 570MW, but it is only able to deliver 240MW because of the old undersized transmission line.” the statement read.

”TCN is carrying out the line replacement work from 8 am to 5 pm daily, light is restored by 6 pm in the evening to 8 am in the morning daily. This is estimated to last for another four weeks from now.” the statement read.
