Veteran Nollywood Actor, Agbako Dies At 102

 

Veteran Nollywood actor Abdulsalam Sanyaolu, popularly known as Charles Olumo or “Agbako,” has passed away at the age of 102.

Prince Jide Kosoko announced Agbako’s death on his Instagram page on the morning of October 31, 2024, but did not disclose further details regarding the cause of death.

Kosoko paid tribute, writing, “Good night ooo, Baba Charles, a.k.a Agbako, 102 years, ba wasa ba. R I P.”

Born on February 19, 1923, in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Agbako became a beloved figure in Nollywood, particularly in the Yoruba film industry. He earned the nickname “Agbako” from his role in a film that highlighted his unique acting style.

Throughout his career, Agbako starred in numerous memorable films, including Taxi Driver, Jagun, Amin Orun, Aiye, Jayesinmi, Soworo Ide, and Igbo Dudu, leaving a lasting legacy in Nigerian cinema.
