NOA DG Charges Traditional Rulers On Community Peace 

 

The Director General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu has urged community leaders to prioritise peace and development in their localities as a way of ensuring stability in the country.

As chairman of the community Day of Ife-Olokotun in Kogi state, he advised the people to work with their traditional ruler to enhance development in their community.

He specifically commended the traditional ruler Oba Mohammed Shuaib Aiyegbajeje Aseja and people of Ife-Olokotun for the evident peace and unity showcased at the event, adding that the Agency was pleased to be identified with the community as part of its advocacy for peace and unity.

Noting the special mandate of the NOA to promote peace and unity, the DG encouraged the people of Ife-Olokotun to be patient with the current administration, reminding them of the Federal Government determination to revive the country from its current state.

The traditional ruler appreciated the DG for participating in the yearly festival that is devoted to planning for the developmental need of the community.The Olukotun explained that the goal of this year’s festivity was to raise a 100Million naira for Ife-Olokotun development projects.

The Director General also donated copies of the current national anthem to the community to aid further sensitization of Nigerians on revived National Anthem.
